Socrates was a failure in his mind,
“Know thyself” was the message he sent humankind,
To be happy he believed we must,
Use our reason to be fair and just,
A fine philosophy that soon went bust,
Cuz we can't get past greed and lust,
We leave our ideals in the dust... far behind.
John Milton was a failure, yes it's true,
His intentions for “Paradise Lost” all fell through,
His lofty goal was to justify,
All the ways of God to you and I,
But he couldn't, and do you know why,
Cuz he set his sights way too high,
So he couldn't find paradise... in this zoo.
Ludwig Van was a failure, that's no lie,
He was deaf to all those compliments that would fly,
His music was conceived to transcend fate,
But instead his tunes were merely great,
An ordinary man would celebrate,
Success in itself can placate,
But that's not enough for young “Beet”... so he died.
If you feel like a failure, shout Yahoo,
Cuz it means that your standards are higher than you,
Think of something that's worth failing at,
Try to be an altruistic cat,
If you don't I'll have to eat my hat,
The world may as well remain flat,
But you're much more noble that that... and me too.

An interesting project that is "Semi-instrumental" meaning that there's a whole Steely Dan / Santana electric guitar riffs with a bit of vocals thrown in the middle of each tune. Different but cool Dave Kilbank and Paul Bezooyen
